1st, 2nd Gen Moto G Smartphones Start Getting Android Lollipop in India
If you live in India and you have a Moto G smartphone, then you might be lucky. Motorola has announced some juicy new details regarding the much-coveted Android 5.0 Lollipop update and it seems it will be coming to some of you.
The company said the following on Twitter:
Lollipop is rolling out in phases to #MotoG (2nd Gen) in US & #MotoG (1st & 2nd Gen) in India. Look for the notification on your device!
So, there you go, the official announcement is out – Motorola makes it obvious that the Moto G smartphones (first and second generation) will start getting the Android Lollipop update. Indian customers seem to be privileged, as the updated will roll out to owners of first-gen, but as well as second-generation Moto G devices. US customers will only get it for second-gen.
The update is an Over-The-Air (OTA) one, but you an also manually check your phone for updates. To do so, you need to go to: Settings > About Phone > System Update.
The Android 5.0 Lollipop update will bring Material Design, new burst mode and fine settings tuning, a new battery-saver feature that extends the life of your device by up to 90 minutes and much, much more.
