Minecraft is still a global phenomena, and it has become so big that Microsoft purchased the company that created the game for a huge amount of money.

Now, the buzz surrounding Minecraft doesn’t stop, and it seems that there’s a movie on the cards, with the information being made public back in February, this year, when Markus Persson, the Minecraft creator and game designer, said the following on his Twitter account

“Someone is trying leak the fact that we’re working with Warner Brothers on a potential Minecraft Movie. I wanted to be the leak!”

And according to the latest rumors, “Night at the Museum” director Shawn Levy is in talks with Warner Bros. to develop a feature film based on the video game franchise. Mike Fleming Jr from Deadline.com said the following:

“Warner Bros is in talks with Shawn Levy to develop to direct Minecraft, the hot video game franchise that Warner Bros acquired in February on the heels of the studio’s success with The LEGO Movie”

So far, the director has been responsible for such movies as This Is Where I Leave You, the Night At The Museum series, Real Steel, Date Night, Alexander And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good and Very Bad Day.
